Whilst listening to the presenting rock station (98.9) that morning, I found out that Dir en grey would be on at 17:00 so my grandpa and I left the shop at around 13:50 to look for the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. The tour started at 14:00 and it took us until 16:00 to find the place because we kept doubting our tracks or turning the wrong ways. I FREAKING HATE YOU MAPQUEST. It took us three different gas stations to finally get where we wanted to go.
When I got there, I looked for the F.V.E stand so I could buy something of Diru's and get a wrist-band to the Meet&Greet. There were people standing infront of their stuff so I just quickly pointed to the American version of Withering to death. and left. I wish I didn't because now I want their most recent single. I think it came with an extra postcard and poster. Gah...damnit.
IT WAS HOT. I really think that a lot of the people there got sunburns after the entire show. I'm glad I didn't. But then again, I wasn't wearing any strappy clothing (or nothing in some people's cases). The seats were burning though. We watched 10 Years while waiting for Dir en grey who were right after. I thought they were nice and then they were off. It was the first time I saw 50+ speakers on a stage, ahahah.
Diru's roadies set up their junk and the fans started cheering once they got the banner up. I liked the banner. It was an atomic explosion with faded Japanese sun rays coming from their name. Go figure. People crowded upon the barricades. I suppose they were the fans and mosh-crazy folks? I didn't go up there. I watched Dir en grey from afar. *crack* Well, 16 rows from the stage. The seats were still good but I wish I was closer. Too bad I didn't feel like getting up. I sat on Die's side and had a good view of him which was nice because I was practically watching him the entire time. I looked at Shinya a lot too since he was right behind Die and occasionally turned to look at Kaoru, Toshiya, and Kyo, who was really in my view since he was on the red thing. Oh yes, he did his fantastic bleeding which I still don't really dig but that's Kyo for you. Their show ended and they threw stuff that I didn't catch because I wasn't up there, remember?
I left the audience to look for the Meet&Greet line which already had like 12 people once I got there. We waited for about an hour and then one of the fans brought Kyo's water bottle and passed it around to their friends who each licked the top and I was standing there going WTF? The same incident occured in the line inside the fence where we were to start the thing where people asked to touch Shinya's drumstick, this one lucky person caught it. Shinya bangs hard, ahaaha. The stick was all ragged. Man, I love that tiny man. He's really thin. Anyway, everyone cheered as Kaoru and Toshiya walked out with their bodyguards...I mean roadies. I shook Kaoru's first then Toshiya's and we all exchanged our thank yous then I left. I SAW TOTCHI'S TEETH, OMG! Yeah. I really wanted to meet Die but I'll hope for Shelley to get him. Kaoru still looks nice with his goatee. I guess the pictures just made it ugly just as they make you fat, aha. To sum this whole experience up, I'm very happy to have seen them onstage and to meet two of the guys. Thanks a lot whoever.
During the drive home, my grandpa told me that he'll never go again if the sun's a-roasting. I guess that one sunburn in Vietnam was enough for him as it was for me. That crap hurt. I hope noone gets skin cancer and dies early. School starts tomorrow. I wonder who'll be my lovely classmates? Let's hurry up and get this year over with because I can't wait to fly again! I'll post about my vacation whenever I have the time. You all have a nice night. |
